WKC East in the OBX

The WKC East is finally doing a little riding on the east coast. We went to a place Called Windmill Point in the Kill Devil Hills area. The IKitesurf wind meters looked promising so off we went. After some contemplation about the quality of the wind, Jeff P and I  decided that it was time to get wet. Now, since Jeff only brought a 11m, I went first on my 9m as a wind dummy, and yes I am still rocking the 2005 Reactors. While it was not an epic session, it was very gusty and on the edge of what I would call the safe zone, it was a session and I had fun. The wind was blowing 24-30mph and had lulls as low as 19 with the gusts reaching 35.
I know these are sketchy conditions but sometimes you just gotta ride.

Another item of note, while there we met a few locals and they were very cool. of course one of them was named.............. You guessed it, Jeff. What is it about kitesurfing and Jeffs? I guess it is inevitable that there will be a Jeff no matter where you go kitesurfing.

OBX

Well, The WKC East crew is all together in the OBX and looking to do some kitesurfing today. It is blowing, but half of the crew may have toomuch kite. The weather is also sopposed to move in today so we will have to beat it if we are to ride. I will report later on our efforts to throw down inthe OBX.

Here are a few pictures from my "vacation" to Texas in July. It was nice to see everyone again, and great to get some time on the water. Felt a little rusty after 3 1/2 years of being fat and lazy.....but still had a blast! Thanks to the WKC for the Texas hospitality, I'll be back next year!

I would like to say thanks to Inklegg for making the custom WKC sticker shown here:

He spent his very valuable time cutting this sticker by hand with an Exacto knife so that we could represent while driving around town. Thanks Inklegg!

I am Captain Joey72 of the WKC. Myself and Inklegg79 will be the Consulate of the East Coast chapter of the WKC. We will be known as the WKC East. We are both founding members of the WKC and will stay closely affiliated with the WKC, however the WKC East will be its own entity. We have yet to start riding much on the East Coast due to House searching and poor weather, but we will start ripping up the water soon and will be looking for new members to continue the growth of the WKC doctrine.
